Recently I’ve started to see that when I take the time to really enjoy the moment and soak up my surroundings I’m able to see opportunity everywhere. More often than not we are chasing after our next accomplishment and we are missing the most important part—the process. As an artist and a visual communicator it is easy for me to want to put the cart before the horse. I’m often driven by the final result. It dawned on me over a year ago when I was on my biweekly jog, I was so concerned with getting it over with I wasn’t seeing my surroundings. Albert Einstein was spot on with his statement “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” I think sometimes it takes difficulty to get to the point where you understand opportunity lies everywhere, even in the mundane. All of those crazy things on your schedule that you want nothing to do with, start appreciating them, start seeing them for what they are—opportunity—I’m certain in doing so you will be amazed at the results.
